Being a “white guy” I feel compelled to respond. You cannot let stereotypes cloud your judgment on this issue. This is not necessarily an act of racism. It is probably a simply a crime of passion. Just because the two people involved area of different races, doesn’t make it racism. The press loves these types of crimes because they (the press) can irresponsibly emphasize certain details, and get more people to read they articles or what their news. What’s sad is that people like you who cannot intelligently think for themselves, always look for the quick and easy “race” issue. The fact that the man was infatuated with certain characteristics of this woman, isn’t enough to make it a race issue.

People in this world are different, whether it is color, religion, ethnicity, careers, etc. We are all different in some way. The differences are a wonderful thing. Cultural diversity is one of the reasons this country is so successful. If we find some attraction to someone who is different this is not bad. We are all attracted to someone for some reason. You can’t just simply categorize this type of behavior and dismiss it as a “fetish.”

I could say that I was offended by your comments, but I am not. Because it is obvious that you are an unintelligent individual who is easily misguided. Perhaps you are angry at something else, and you need to find some outlet, so you choose this. In any case, if anyone here is obviously racist, it is you.

As a “white guy” I can truthfully say that over half of my friends are of some other race. And, on top of that, I am married to an Asian woman. But, perhaps, my marriage is just a fetish? What will my wife think??? Oh dear, the agony. Oh I forgot, you are not very intelligent, so you probably don’t understand sarcasm.

Oh, now that I am finished with my ranting, let’s evaluate your statements.

-- You said
Unfortunately, certain elements of this story are all too familiar.

-- I say
Really? I thought white people just hated black people. Man, did I miss out on that class in school, which teaches us to hate Asian people? That’s what I get for being a bad student I suppose. Ah!! I forgot, again, that you are stupid. You may not understand my sarcasm. Forgive me. I will try not to let that happen again.

-- You said
As an Asian guy, I've had lots of experience with white guys hitting on my date or girlfriend as if I wasn't even there, most often when I brought a white woman to a gathering of mostly white people.

-- I say

Do you have any idea how stupid you sound in this statement? So are you complaining about “white guys” with Asian fetishes, or are you mad because the white guys are hitting on the “white girl” you are with? BTW, do you have a “white woman” fetish? Why are you with a “white woman”? I see double standards here.

-- You said
White guys know that they have all the power in this culture, and they can go for what they want without giving any respect to Asian guys.

-- I say
What culture? “White guys” do not define American culture. This culture is defined by all the people who contribute to it to make it and their own lives better. The last time I looked at my company (which is a small company), I saw 8 chinese, 4 Indian, 1 vietnamese, 2 or 3 Russians, a few Swedish, 1 Korean, etc. etc. We have a culturally diverse group, and I am proud to work with every one of them. They are not only my co-workers, they are my friends.

-- You say
A lot of guys with Asian fetishes and infatuations are the very same guys who will go miles out of their way to oppose Asian American efforts to empower themselves. Here, the guy's rage was directed at the object of his racist infatuation, but otherwise, it's the same old story.

-- I say
What opposition? Please, educate me so that I may understand better. If you feel that your life is worse of

You are so right! It seems that when we are out on a date trying to be like other normal couples we, many times, don't get the same dignity and respect. It's not only bad enough that we get bothered by whites when we are out with white women but even when we are out with our own Asian women! This is totally outrageous.

You bring up a good point. Even if Chunyu Fu's story isn't accepted as proof of Anderson's racial motivation (although it should be), your experience, if typical of Asian men, suggests that Anderson wouldn't have tried to move in on Wang if her husband hadn't been Asian. This is a more indirect argument, but it's probably worth making.

I went out w/ a white model before. I don't know if i'll do that again for the sole reason that white males cause me too many problems mainly from lack of respect and rude behaviour. I would go out w/ another wf if i became available but i don't think i'd marry one. She'd have to be pretty special. But anyhow, i don't like the problems w/ being immersed in white ppl. Too much to prove. Like you have to prove your worth to a whole sector of white ppl. Their family, friends and all that b.s.

White guys would blatantly try to pick up my gf. Iwas getting sick and tired. It was causing problems in my relationship. I would start worrying about her.

I know you shouldn't be jealous but white guys need to give some respect. I feel very secure w/ my viet gf. But i know all sorts of weirdos out there w/ asian fetishes ogle and leer at her. I know she can take care of herself though which is reassuring. ANTI-RACIST-MILITANTS
