Re: The Yellow Fever Pages (Score: 1) by jamesmchen on Friday, March 24 @ 12:59:04 EST (User Info | Send a Message) | Some comments were indeed rude, but the author's herself is quite disturbing with her self-defeating, self-loathing behavior. She has what one might call "Bryant Gumbel syndrome". She apparently does not want to have anything to do with those of her own racial persuasion, yet turns to them for support when she sees racism.
I can assure you that Model Minority readers have plenty of empathy for those who deserve it. Karen Eng is not someone who deserves our empathy. |

Re: The Yellow Fever Pages (Score: 1) by OmegaSupreme on Friday, March 24 @ 16:32:20 EST (User Info | Send a Message) | I'll admit that some of the comments on here were harsh, but I can't help but notice the following:
So when an asian female publishes yet another article that shafts asian males, it is called an "honest rant", a "nice joke" and a case of a "complex societal problem".
But when an asian male provides his own "honest rant", he is automatically dismissed as a "hater", portrayed as having expectations of "perfect enlightment", and given no acknowledgement whatsoever on any of the legitimate criticisms written in response to this article.
Interesting. |
