Re: Facing Up to Facebook Racism (Score: 1) by OmegaSupreme on Monday, November 28 @ 14:01:51 EST (User Info | Send a Message) | "let's be honest -- since it was so easy to slam smeyer7 for his weak-ass transparent ploy at seeking approval, how come nobody stepped up to the plate to slam UsAgainstThem or chinmoku"
We can also ask why nesaispas "stepped up to the plate" against chinmoku but provided no response to smeyer7. We could also ask why you accuse others of not "stepping up to the plate", when you didn't do so yourself. Hell, if we really wanted to get anal about this, I could ask why someone who is trying to adopt a NPOV like yourself would use terms like "white boy" or "cracker".
But to answer your question, the fact is it doesn't take half a brain to figure out that the comments that are as blatantly racist like those from UsAgainstThem and chinmoku should not be supported and deserve whatever backlash that others are willing to throw at them. However in smeyer7's case he instead chose to act like a self-righteous hypocrite, making sweeping generalizations about members here being racist but failing to address any of the "racism" described in this article and any other article on this site. smeyer7 also made the mistake of failing to respond to the individual posters and instead tried to lump everyone to the same category. Point being, there are many members here who make intelligent responses and those who don't, but its very telling when people only focus on the negative and choose to base their opinions of an entire forum based on the responses of a few.
"Maryann Li is a true sellout who deserves to spend the best years of her life with no better than the moronic, morally-bankrupt trash she supports (and that would be just as true if she were Caucasian)"
On a side note, this statement makes no sense to me. For one thing, if she were white, do you really think she and her white boyfriend would create a site titled "Americans for the Increased Importation of Asian Women"?? Lets at least be realistic here. |
