You lament that American society wants assimilation and in a tone of apparent contempt and agitated otherness, claim that American is two dimensional and simple minded. But then you praise the dubious "uniform" Asian culture and its ability to accept differnet ideas. So whats bad in America is good in Asia? Further, can you even prove that ALL of asia is uniform in culture? Are Southeast, South, Middle East, and Central Asians a part of your equation or are you just another pseudo-racist who thinks nothing beyond China-Korea-Japan is "asian." What do you mean by the acceptance of different ideas? Do you mean the same "asian culture" where a famous actress commits suicide because she is driven to depression by her family shame over a movie she made (read Eun-jun Lee). |
