2) Do you depise Japanese soldiers who committed atrocities against other Asians or do you despise Japanse?
There's a huge difference. You have to be able to draw a distinction here.
see, right there proves you're a japanphile raised on too much anime and jpop and Roppongi yellow cabs.
THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE:
1> germany have publicly apologized and atoned for its WW2 atrocities, both government and most private citizens and no nazi propaganda or glorification of such are allowed in the public consciousness (ie school textbooks) that borderlines on censorship.
2> japan have never made official state apologies other than minor statements of regret, no compensation whatsoever have been given to victims and to this day the numbnut politicians still visit the yakusuni shrine to honor war criminals (imagine himmler or gobbel being venerated and what the jewish mafia would do), and the continued denial and fabrication of historical crimes thru textbooks is still a sore point for much of asia.
but while we're at this, what has the suffering of black folks in the past directly affected you? if we whorientals are not to speak of the past or be made light of atrocities commited against asians, then who's entitled to speak of historical crimes against blacks? if you want to speak of historical crimes as if it's some sort of self-entitlement to these issues, then STFU and read more about the historical crimes against asians before you get on your soap-box about asian-on-black racism!
and to get back on point for this thread: as long you agree that the two atomic bombs were racist acts then that's all that matters as far this thread is concerned. all the other issues surrounding imperial japanese WW2 aggression can be settled in the forum with a new topic. |
