You're calling me an uncle tom asiaphile? That is a funny description of me considering the racism I have experienced from my good ole fellow Asian-Americans.

Calling me an uncle tom really doesn't help keep this discussion constructive, does it? For your information, I am anything but an uncle tom.

You belittle Iris Chang's book, yet historians and victims of Nanking praise her book's historical accuracy and consider it a credible source.

You can villify Japanese all you want, but you are actually playing into racists' hands. It is correct to demonize the Nazi's; not Germans. In that same vein, it is correct to villify the troops who committed those heinous attrocities in Nanking; not the Japanese.

Japan is only making matters worse by not offering an unqualified, unequivocal apology for past war attrocities.

The Chinese communist government is actually benefiting from Japan's lack of atonement. The communist use Japan's stance in order to foster a new surge in nationalism amongst Chinese which will, unfortunately, grow support for communism parallel with their economic growth. When this happens, Chinese people may not feel any need to foster democracy. They may become even more loyal to their communist government.

Japan's lack of atonement may, eventually, lead to more instability in Asia.
