Re: The Asian Female Mystique (Score: 1) by SheridanPrasso on Sunday, June 19 @ 22:56:32 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | Hi OmegaSupreme,
I most certainly do understand that Asian male stereotypes are also a factor, and so I devote an entire chapter to it in my book, which I encourage you to pick up and read for yourself. Of course, in a short article as Mr. Hong has written and in a short summary as he attempts to provide, it is impossible to give the full context of my comments or the book in its entirety.
Therefore, I encourage you to please pick up The Asian Mystique and decide for yourself, or at least read more about it from the myriad of articles and reviews written about it so far, which I have posted to my site.
And yes, Karen Kelsky's work as a fellow researcher in the anthropological tradition has been very useful in my own research, and I cite her accordingly. As I am not an academic (I am a journalist who has reported on Asia for more than 15 years), much of my writing is in a more informal style, designed to be accessible to the mass book-buying public at Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com and elsewhere. Please take a look and decide for yourself:

All these Asian female activists, Talk Asian, Bed Whitey. Seriously, I respect these biatches more if they just not talk about Asian pride when they are married/dating a cracka.
Action speaks louder than words. |
