And the people that do take those stereotypical roles really ought to be taught a lesson for the tremendous damage they impact upon society. Better yet, how about we mass educate our sisters that they never have to resort to these sorts of demeaning roles?
Embrace yourselves. The fight's only begun. |

(User Info | Send a Message) | | So you think the better idea is to blame the victim? None of these girls asked to be raped. None of us who haven't been raped or have been otherwise asked to be. She talked about how the media portrayal and racial stereotypes drove many of these rapists to think that we wouldn't report them whereas white girls would. And unfortunately, statistics are showing they're right. In other words, we get targeted because they know it's less likely we'll actually come forward, in part because of the shame factor. And also, we get targeted because they're perverts, and because the porn industry even goes so far as to create these sick fantasies for them specifically with Asian women in them. If you hate women or maybe just Asian women, whatever. But there's no excuse for trying to blame the victim in cases like this. |
