Re: NY Street Renamed for Chinese American Hero (Score: 1)

I am sorry that everyone seems unhappy about the way Zack Zeng was honored in NYC. I was in touch with those involved in the renaming and know the work they put into it. The street runs along a park, where Zack used to meet his friends.
I am with the Brighton Volunteer Ambulance in Rochester NY. Zack was a volunteer member of our agency, while he was studying here in Rochester.
Zack was well liked here in Rochester by our BVA members, his University of Rochester associates and at Xerox, where he served his internship.
In his memory, we dedicated a new ambulance in October 2001. We also went to great lengths to make certain that he was recognized on the NYS EMS Memorial in Albany and at the National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Service held in Roanoke VA. The UR Simon School of Business named a open air area on the fouth floor of their building in memory of Zack and another WTC 9 - 11 victim. His former employer in NYC, the Bank of New York - ADR Division, hosts an annual golf tournement in the NYC area bearing Zack's name and his BNY friends and fellow employees have started the Zack Zeng Foundation in his memory. It benefits our volunteer ambulance corps.
If you want to see some of the events that have honored Zack, please go to our website of www.brightonambulance.org and click on the "news" link.
