today things are different but in those days it was -get thrown into detention camps, translators in intelligence (probably implies torture while extracting information), then after war, claim it was the "american" (which in fact it was) thing to do. for the "america" that always thinks ur nothing but an annoyance and a "minority". war sucks.
no question about it, war sux. however, WWII is more complicated than that, since america was attacked first on the day of infamy and the third reich had to be stopped. the thing that disturbed me about this article is i couldn't figure out what the angle is of the summary of APA military achievements are. is it to teach the general armed servicefolks about contributions APA made or is it a recruitment device for APA to join the services? if it's the former, then i'm skeptical as most military personnel get their info from "faux news" and pop culture in that age range like most young folks and really lack the critical reasoning abilities and power to influence policies to stop war or promote APA awareness. if the article is a recruitment tool for APA, which it mostly certainly sounds like trying to promote APA military achievements, then it's a real sham that nothing was mentioned of the fact during WWII not even army barbers would touch the hair of 442nd soldiers -- and their medals weren't even awarded until clinton's administration. add to this the current debacle in terms of plans on North Korea and the need for intelligence, translators, etc. and that most arms research in places like los alamos and livermore are done by asian-american scientists, there's something seriously wrong here with trying to promote APA to join the services and then go bomb and kill old world asians -- all in the name of becoming amerikkkanized for the APAs. this would indeed be the ultimate form of becoming sellouts, go kill other asians to prove how amerikkkan APAs are.

addendum: forgot to include the whole taiwan straight conundrum and the likely US intervention should the wacko chen shui-bian decides to antagonize the status quo.
