They want to attraact attention by hanging out with those boys who can kick someone's ass. In short the girls think of it as power which can equate to popularity.
After they spend time with a "bad boy" she becomes a damaged good. - a nasty tatoo on her butt, STD and drug-addicted.
In short, a loser attracts a loser.
If a woman or girl has good upbringing and comes from a good family and has no mental or psychological defects, she would want someone she can bring to her Mom.
