If say you are in China, and you are at war with the Japanese and you have the chance to segregate the Japanese knowing doing so would probably win you the war, would you segragate the Japanese?

Would you?

There's a difference between Japanese and Japanese-American. Winning the war had nothing to do with internment, everything to do with the nuclear bomb.

I dont understand why this has become a racial issue.

As if the Japanese are not guilty of crimes anyway.

That's a stupid argument. Every race has committed crimes. The point is Japan was at war with America, not Japanese-American. Japanese-Americans who HAVEN'T committed crimes were put into camps. Btw, what happen to the German internment camps?

I know, I know someone would scream Japanese Americans and not Japanese.

During that time, was there a clear difference between two designation? They were not even probably called Americans that time.

You not making a distinction does not negate the fact that there IS a distinction. Just like white-Americans are different than white-Europeans.

Like all of you here, are you acting like Chinese or Chinese American.

So if you are Chinese who have strong feelings against the Japanese, you would applaud Malkin.

That proves our point. That only racists support Malkin. Thank you.

If you are Chinese American then I really dont know whats the big deal. It happened a long time ago. The Asian community is not under attack. Malkin is just trying to retell history from a Republican's point of view. Her work would not make any Asian poorer or weaker.

Because her view absolves all Euro-Americans of their racist past, and it's wrong.

What the @3&% are you yapping about racism?

Because it exists

If you are Japanese Americans, what exactly did she say to make you so angry?

I'm not, but she's giving super-conservatives an excuse for racism. And the fact that she's Asian makes her appear more credible when she's not.

If you have to be angry, be angry at your ancestors in Japan. Damn, your ancestors killed one of my ancestors.

There's a difference between two men with guns fighting and dying in a war, and women and children being dragged off into internment camps.

I should be writing a book about that. If you dont shut up about how you are victim, I will show everyone the victims your ancestors killed, raped and mutilated.

Story so graphic you wont even call me a racist.

You are a racist

the asian style of business is to cut prices so low it f@#ks everyone. but hey quantitiy is the "asian style". so since aians are screwing everyone. let's get rid of the trouble-makers.

since alot of chinese are landing here in he u.s. legally or illegally lets start with interning the chinese first since the chinese are propbably the "best" at business and will probably have the biggest impact on how business is done here in america eventually.

also let's make sure anyone chinese or of chinese heritage also does not recieve any high level position in govt. or in the scientific research department just in case they decide to be a turncoat and give up secrets to "bejing".

since it looks like having chinese in america will eventually be the demise of america we should "look for the minority report and make sure pre-crime acts accordingly".

too many soldiers are idiotic and that includes the japanese of ww2. all wars suck.

but don't start one here. cause u will be whipped cut too shred thrown in the trash.....oh oh here comes dalaiwu!

we yap about racism alot here. Sorry; its important to us that everyone here support equality and freedoms for opportunity for all.

your response to this article is very misplaced and not on topic.
(you can start a topic about china-japan and their WWII treatment of each other but you'll need a time machine to go back 15 years to be able to find someone who doesn't know all that already)

the american response in internment was certainly excessive and racially motivated

its nice to know Mrs Malkin has been at this awhile (2002 slavery reparations), is there any minority group left for her to attack?

I suggest you go back to the archives and read previous articles on this topic, which show extremely convincingly that the Japanese American internment was racially motivated, and not militarily motivated. And this affects all Asian Americans, because we are all the same to our European American leaders.

I am Chinese, and we had family friends that were killed by the Japanese during their occupation of China. But I certainly don't blame the Japanese Americans for that.
