Re: Accents, Wages Threaten India's Gains on Outsourcing (Score: 1) by bruceme on Sunday, August 15 @ 15:57:37 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | Customers won't get used to it. Oh, they'll complain. That's why there's an industry sector for call centers and no matter how cheap it is, if customers can't understand or the offshored call center rep doesn't understand the customer, it leads to frustration. In one article I came across, the grass is not always greener. These jobs tend to be low paying in the US but in places like India, the money may be good, but it's burn-out city. Quite a few wish to quit those sort of jobs.
If you work for a DELL, you have to know quite a bit about operating systems, computer hardware, and their associated bugs and workarounds. They're not paid that great and helpdesk in IT is a starting point for those trying to establish a career in the industry. |
