Teaching racism (Score: 1) by MigukNamja4 on Sunday, July 25 @ 17:55:09 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | Obviously, you are not in touch with Asian families outside of the United States, because racism is promoted there.
There is also the post-modern tendency to undermine any claims to universailty, whether scientific, economic, or environmental as hegemonic. Many kids in South Korea will tell you race is the most pervasive aspect of human history, thus promoting racism instead of combating it.
I would assert that Asians are just as prominent in promoting race in dealings with each other in their respective histories. Consider the colonization of Korea and China by Japan, and both countries' responses after liberation.
Racial thinking is an unfortuante by-product of the brain's ability to distinquish, not stamped on the genes. Beleiving anyone or any group is immune to that propensity promotes racism. |
