Re: Asian Male Bashing in American Media (Score: 1) by jpma on Wednesday, June 23 @ 16:11:51 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | On an issue such as derogatory Asian media sterotype especially in film I would hope that Asian-Americans and all Asians alike stand united in boycotting derogatory Asian sterotypes especially in U.S. films (since they are currently the most globally distriibuted). I would hope that more in a position in Asia would scarifice and put social conciousness before profit.
As already noted in an above post and in agreement that I have to say even though I hate to sound anti-semetic, it almost seems that the Jewish "Powers that Be" will do anything they can to make a buck and in the Asian-American's case, to our detriment.
When it comes to the awareness of the atrocoties that were inflicted by Hitler on the Jewish people, there are so many films that insist on our awareness of teh trajediesand at the same time ask's sympathy fom us, the masses( latest case would be "The Piano" -yes?).
With this in mind, you would think if Jews are really in power they would ensure that the works they create would be created in such a way to prevent negative sterotypes. Since as a people they were persecuted because of religon and negative sterotypes associated with their religon.
If they are "in Power", then why isn't is such? I wonder if there is a deeper cause which fuels the derogatory images of Asians.
I wonder if some sort or "agreement" amongst the power elite in Hollywood to not only discredit Asians but to also manipulate public opinion is some warped self serving way, it is hard to find actual proof. It is all supposedly "just entertainment". I think it is a terrible thing to even think, especially of a people who suffered so, but IMO it is something worth considering, or at least get a response denying that such ridiculousness exists. |
