(User Info | Send a Message) | | I am a big fan of history, but mostly Asian history. Of relevant and to my point was the great Mongolian Empire. It spread from Korea to Hungaria, from Siberia to Egypt. How did it fall one reason is (not the only reason) but one reason was they lost their identity. They all came from Mongolia. Over the centuries as the empire expanded and spread over the world. After Genghis grandson (Kublah Khan's Brother) died the empire broke up. One reason (not the only reason) was because Mongols in Russia (Kazasthan area) began to identified themselves as Muslims and related more to the people of the Russian Basin (I compare this hyphenated-Americans). The Mongols in India are identified themselfs as Muslim but of the Near East variety (as opposed to the Arab area Muslim). The MOngols in Mesopotamia, the Mongols in MOngolia were still very much connected to their homeland and identified themselves strongly with Mongolia. The Mongolians in China began to identify themselves with the Chinese (though they were still closely align with the Mongolians in Mongolia). One day the MOngols in China and in Mesopotamia decide to attack Egypt and Syria. What happened was the Mongolians in Russia joined up with the Eqyptians to Crush their own saying we are Muslims before Mongol (American before a particular Asian). Well after that the mighty Mongol people were nolonger the same. Needless to say 50yrs later the Mesopotamian Mongols were wipeout by the Muslims (with help from the Mongolian from Russia). Then 20years after the Fall of the Mesopotamian Mongols, the Chinese overthrew the Mongolians in Mongolia (with the help of the Mesopotamians who earlier overthrew the MOngols there). One buy one each Mongol state fell, all either fighting amomgst each other or not helping each other. All lost their Mongolian identity (expect for the Mongolians in Mongolia of course). Fast forward three hundred years, the Mongolian Motherland was taken over by the Chinese. And for most of the 20th century the people of MOngolia have been vasals to either the USSR or the Chinese. How sad isn't it. Today Mongolians are all over the Euroasian continent. Yet they are all disconected. Some don't even know they are of Mongol descent. IN MOngolia, the people their still worship and pray that one day Genghis Khan's spirit will return one day to reunite the Mongols and return them to world supremacy. The Moral of the story is not that MOngols are good or bad is that once the Mongols lost their identity and their link from home. They were doom. The "people of the land they ruled" the ones they tried to assimilated with overthrew them without hesitation. They never really belonged. So that is my fear. What happens to a group of people who lost their identity. I see this in Dolemites post. Chinese over here criticized the CCP and Mao for all the wrongs they did but not give them props for the rights they did. They hate China or whereever they came from and not once put the time to understand the "homelands delimas." Trying to assmilate here and lose their connection with where they came from. This people has happened before in history. I don't how this will playout in America but one day if the "Asia-Americans" need help or if the Asians need help. Will they help each other. Do thousands of years of lineage get destroyed by 100 year of seperation. I hope not. Peace out. BTW the people I get along with the most are not "AA" or white or black, but I get along with recent immigrants from every part of the world. They seem to believe in their homeland. The call america their love interest (ie husband) but their homeland their family. Take that as you will. That is how I wished every minority group to be, especially in America where the Whiteman have destroyed their homeland and their ancestors were brought here to be laborers and subhumans. Yes they are better now, but will we ever be "Americans" Blacks and Native Americans have been waiting for 300 years. |
