Re: Dolemite (Score: 1) by Minh on Thursday, June 17 @ 21:18:10 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | | YOu are right. This is my last post on this site. I don't belong here. Good thing you know that China is not homogenous. But I suggest you read your Chinese History a little better. Never have I said Japanese and Chinese are the same. I said Similiar. That is why "j-america" and "c-america" is different. And you must know that the Japanese were not part the exclusion act because the US didn't want to F** with the Japanese gov at the time. No matter where you go in China. Xianjiang might be the exception. YOu will see Confucianism as well as in Japan and Korea. Korea if you know and to some extent NOrth Korea today is or for most of its history was a protectorate of China. Further, you cannot compare communist china to Japan 1940s. Read your history. The communist won because they had support of the people. Mao is a god in China and Zhou Enlai is even more worship. Go over asia (especially the poorer part of asia, Japanese people are not look highly upon. Go to North Korea and South Korea, see how they feel. Go to Shandong and Heilongjang and see the present that the Japanese left in 1944 that still kills thousands (Black Death). Maybe instead of Asian-American you should have taken Asian history at UCD. I had a chance to take a class from Takagi at Berkeley (all "AA's" hero), he is a nice guy but I could not stand that class. I left after a week. I was hoping that AA wasn't what I saw in that class or at Cal. But from this chat room I guess I am the minority. At least this website confirms to me what "AA" is. PEOPLE WHO Don't care about the history of the countries they came from. Speak of hate and ignorance of their country of origin while praising america (many times the country that abused their homeland) AA is white that is all I have seen. If you have a chance talk to Blacks and Latins and see how they feel about AA. Remember it was Blacks who one us our civil rights. The White men would not of given us shit. Yet you here so much AA shit talk about Blacks and the NAACP. We all owe something to where we come from and to Blacks yet the AA have sold out and embrace white america. Dude if China doesn't have a culture not people have culture. As I've read in many many many many history books about Europe or Asia, China has always been regarded as the longest contiguous culture in the world. Maybe you never heard that term. Maybe go talk to a historian. As them what is the longest contiguous culture in the world today. And if you don't think Japan's sucess has alot to do with how "j-america" is viewed you are sadly mistaken. When I arrived in America for the first time america chinese people were regarded as low class and japanese as high class. Now that has even out a little bit. YOu think C-America had something to do with that or China emerging as a world economic, political, and military power have more to do with that. Vietnamese and Thai are regarded as low class by many whites, why because Vietnam and Thailand is still a poor country. Whether you like it or not how you are viewed as an overseas asian is highly link to how your country of origin is perceived. Read about how Chinese were treated in Indonesia during the Financial Crisis. IF the CCP didn't step in you think the Indonesians would have backed down? No matter where you go, if you forget where you come from, I really feel bad for you. |
