Activism is great, but ... (Score: 1) by ac2004 on Thursday, April 29 @ 06:25:01 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | Yeah, I agree that grassroots activism is great and it really had positive affects here. But ...
I'm already beginning to worry that many of our so-called leaders & activists are going to just cut a weak-willed backroom deal that won't really address the problems. E.g., some of the 'activists' seem to be treating BASA, NAAScon, and other groups calls to have Whitney McNally seriously disciplined as some sort of peripheral demand ... i.e., those more activist activists run the danger of being marginalized.
Gawd, I hope that we don't just cut some quicky face-saving deal with Peres and Fairchild Pub ... Because if we do, mark my words: Things like "Gay or Asian?" will happen AGAIN and again (and may be worse in the future). |
