Re: Why 'Joy Luck' Brings Me Misery (Score: 1) by ReBirth on Friday, April 23 @ 17:38:51 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | It's the CEO's of media corporations. The ones who receive the money. Do you believe that all jewish people receive a paycheck from media's gains? I have no idea who the corporation leader's nationality is.
It's also those sponsors who buy commercial time who also determines what is portrayed in the media. It's a business nonetheless.
I don't know specifically who is responsible. But the point is, unless you can claim that ALL of a specific group is responsible, then nothing can be assumed in that respect.
We are also responsible if we complain and not lift a finger to change these portrayls. And then you have to ask yourself if you're more than how others see you. Can you define yourself outside of people's portrayls?
This Us vs Them mentality is destructive. It relieves one of responsiblity and puts all of it on the other. Anyone can use us vs them to make any idea seem virtuous if portrayed correctly.
