Hrm, I dont see it that way.

I have examined my own predilections, and for the most part I consider myself quite resilient against stereotypes and the effect of mass media and popular culture.

However, no matter how common it may be, I wont deny that I also find Asian women to be attractive (on average). To flinch away from something solely because its popular is just as bad as striving for something due to its popularity.

And its a purely selfish sentiment. Choosing someone you find attractive is not a bad habit, such as alcoholism. Its perfectly healthy and normal, in and of itself. Trying to convince people otherwise is self-defeating. Perhaps you should choose another tack for your crusade...

"To treat people in a negative way (e.g., that Asian women are geishas/submissive/"so horny"/dragon ladies/etc. and that Asian men are nutless eunuchs) based on RACE is RACISM."

That is true, no matter who does it.
On the other hand, I think it is quite natural to meet people, based on previous experiences and aqcuired information about the group they belong to.
Although it sounds nice to meet all human beings based solely on their personality, this is not how the human brain is hardwired, and it doesn't have the capacity to handle 6.3 billion individuals, without some pre-categorization about how to handle them.
Between pre-categorization, pre-judice, and pure racism there are what you could call "grey areas".
If I meet a 25-year old person and a 80-year old person, I would greet and talk differently. The same goes for an american and a japanese (I am not from either country..)

Just look at how several of the other posters reacted to (what I believe) was an honest and non-insulting post: I was a "honky", a "troll" etc. This is probably based on their negative experiences with white men, negative infoirmation about white men acquired elsewhere, or something third.....
