Due to his location, he gets rather insulated from the harsh anti-AM attitudes far more prevalent elsewhere here and in Tokyo. Hence his naive "we are the world" "race don't matter" attitude. You hear the same type dimissive attitudes from AMs in Canada, Hawaii or other countries who "don't get" the intense racism AMs experience in most of the continental US where the 56% non-FOB AF outmarriage rate is likely unexceeded anywhere else in the known world.
The WM with a BF, jazzydrew from Tokyo cites Trinh T. Minh-Ha and his teacher, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak - yet another Asian (Indian) "Marxist, post-colonialist feminist" MARRIED TO A WHITE (actually, likely Jewish - Spivak) MAN.
Trinh T. Minh-Ha is another feminist AF - who I don't know much about. But, at a first glance, she seems rather questionable, as one of her movies has what appears to be a black dude sucking on a blindfolded AF's t*t:

Yet another Aunty Tan?
Gee, is it any wonder why "minority feminist" has come to symbolize "WM worshipper/minority male basher?" And "minority female empowerment" means fvcking white colonialist *****? Isn't it all just a liberal codeword for WM SUPERIORITY??? Most of these women are just flat-out RACISTS - disguised in "double-minority" skin.
I think Karen or someone else needs to write a book about THESE AUTHORS THEMSELVES.
Yeah, it's no wonder jazzydrew loves these authors and HATES Karen Kelsky. She doesn't suck WM ***** - academically OR literally. And ALL THE MORE REASON AMs should support women like her - and combat WM imperialism and their latest servile soldiers - liberal minority feminists.
Now, I doubt Kelsky uses absolute statements like "ALL," at least from the article above - she certainly seems to be commenting on an undeniable, overall general "supra-individual" trend, not case-by-case.
Kelsky does not deny that human relationships are the product of individual desires and preferences but she is primarily concerned with those supra-individual discursive formations that inescapably position white men and Japanese women in a specific economy of desire that works to disadvantage white women and Japanese men. As Kelsky points out, her purpose 'is not to cast aspersions on Japanese female—white male couples', rather she is concerned to point out the dangers in 'the endlessly repeated feedback loop' that occurs when 'representations of interracial romance as a symbol of redemptive pluralism and solution to the problem of Japanese sexism and insularity are recirculated back to Japan'

Re: Women on the Verge (Score: 1) by ac2004 on Saturday, March 20 @ 03:28:22 EST (User Info | Send a Message) | I'm listening to a White Stripes song right now titled "Oh I think I smell a rat." Hmm?
Anytime someone goes to a forum of any sort and then bashes Asian American males, the IR disparity issue, support stuff like 'The Last Samurai' or 'Lost in Translation' or any number of other offerings by Ho'wood (krome's contribution to the lexicon) ... then I suspect that they are REALLY White men and/or their geisha girlfriends REGARDLESS of whether they claim they are 'Black' (African Americans), 'Latino,' or whatever.
C'mon people ... you got to be sharper than that! I've seen White dudes pose as African American females (kimkam????) on other forums to talk sh*t about Asians and Asian Americans.
As for the comments on Kelsky ... Mark McLelland is a Whiteboy tool and even he said that Kelsky was politically correct about AF/WM IR relationships.
So IMHO those negative reviews by alleged 'minorities' are FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt). |
