America may have once been built by white people, but these days it's being built by all the debt financing you negative two percent savings rate types get from those dirty foreigners. Don't worry, once you're surpassed by Asian countries with a 25% savings rate and sustainable growth in consumer spending (S. Korea being the leading edge of this trend), the third-world rabble from Asia will stop coming. same reason why we don't get much immigration from France or Japan these days. shameless plug there might even be a backflow, as I wrote a while ago. |

(User Info | Send a Message) | Yes, no one is denying that white people as a group are smart. You have created a wealthy society that is strong militarily and economically (Of course it was built with the slave labor of African Americans, but that's another point...)
What I would disagree with is your portrayal of white people as nonracist. If you look at history, you will see that racism did not exist before white people invented it. White people invented the racism that unleashed the mass lynchings against blacks, the genocide against the Indians, the media denigration of Asians, and the numerous hate crimes that continue to take place against all racial minorities today. Look at the violence that took place against Muslims after Sept. 11. All these incidents had two things in common: 1)they were perpetrated against dark people, and 2)they were committed by white people.
In short, America has it's good points, and many of these good points were created by whites. Just don't try to exonerate whites for racial crimes. History (and current events) proves the ongoing problem of white racism. |

Because it was far better than anything whites could hope to build on their own.

I guess you do not know history too much. As your white forefathers USED people of other races to 'help' them build this country. They would not want to pay their own race money to build the railroads, to tend to their farms, to clean their outhouses, they rather use slaves and indentured servants and paid them nothing or next to nothing. This society was built by people of all races, the white people took advantage of everyone that came into this country. |
