Re: Steak Shop's Name Stirs Controversy (Score: 1) by filichino on Sunday, January 18 @ 08:13:50 EST (User Info | Send a Message) | Are you saying you condone speaking improper grammar?
What does "the behavorial norms of white people" have to do with me being disgusted with people that ARE NOT black speaking Ebonics and acting like they are from the ghetto because it is idolized by music and MTV? Why is it so trendy nowadays to act this way? Your "behavioral norms of white people" has nothing to do with me being unaccepting and unappreciative of poor grammar and "being ghetto" just because it's trendy.
All I'm saying is "Why lower yourself?" |

Chink, on the other hand, does not people shake in their boots because there has been a lack of action and protest when the term is thrown around.
Think about it, no one would dare name an establishment "Nigger's Steaks," imagine the amount of fury and protest unleashed around that, white people even in that neck of the woods are fearful of black retaliation.
But, for the last 50 years, Chink's has existed due to the lack of fear or doubt that it's actually offending anyone.
Just my thoughts. |
